The access to all the Department rooms and premises is regulated by the “Access Regulations” available here

OPENING TIMES of the Padua premises
The regular access and opening times of the DII premises are the following:
Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 17:00

The request for access to the Department must be submitted exclusively on-line.

You can start this procedure either via Single Sign On or by using the password you received by e-mail (subject to prior registration).

Access

Q: I am a new regular or guest. What shall I do to have access to the Department areas related to my activity (offices, laboratories, workshops)?
A: You must submit the on-line request for access to the Department, by clicking on the button "Access request" or visiting page http://www.dii.unipd.it/accessi

Q: I am a foreign regular and I have neither a @unipd.it / @studenti.unipd.it account nor an Italian tax code. How can I register in the Persone DII system to get a password and submit my access request?
A: Enter your Italian tax code (if you haven’t got it, you can calculate it automatically with the help of some specific websites: search for “calcolo codice fiscale stranieri”. Attention: to calculate your Italian tax code, enter your Country of birth as “Place of birth”).

Q: I have submitted my on-line request for access to the Department, but I haven’t received any confirmation. What shall I do?
A:  Access your personal page and check the status of your request (i.e. waiting for the Reference Professor’s approval, waiting for the Department Head’s approval).

Q: I have submitted my on-line request for access to the Department and I have received the confirmation e-mail. What shall I do now?
A: You can find the necessary information in your confirmation e-mail. From your personal page you can check the status of activation of the different services provided by the DII offices, as well as find other information.   If you have NO @unipd.it / @studenti.unipd.it account, access your personal page via Login senza Single Sign On

Q: I am an already authorized user. My authorization will expire in a couple of days, but a new contract/period of stay will start immediately afterwards. How can I extend the validity of my authorization?
A: On your personal page you can find the button “Submit a renewal/extension request” to submit a new request.

Q: I am an already authorized user, but I have to modify some information on my personal page (i.e. Reference Professor, used laboratories). How can I modify such information?
A: On your personal page you can find the button “Submit a renewal/extension request” to send a new request, that will replace the previous one.

Q: I am an already authorized user, but I have to modify my e-mail address (i.e. activation of a University account or shift from @studenti.unipd.it to @unipd.it or vice versa). What shall I do?
A: Access your personal page by using the correct account: it will be updated automatically. Attention: if you used IT services (access to your pc, network printers, etc.) with your old account, send a request to the DII Helpdesk, section “SERVIZI INFORMATICI::1 Account e servizi di rete”, asking for the services update with your new account.

Laboratories

Q: Nella procedura di richiesta dell’autorizzazione ho sbagliato a selezionare i laboratori. Come li posso correggere?
A:
- if you haven’t submitted your request yet, you can go back and select the right laboratories
- if you have already submitted your request, you cannot go back: you MUST send a request to the Helpdesk, section “SERVIZI INFORMATICI::8 Persone DII”, your access request will be cancelled and you will be able to fill it in again with more attention.

Q: I must take the safety tests for access to the laboratories, but I have no @unipd.it / @studenti.unipd.it account. How can I access the tests?
A: You can find all the instructions on how to access the safety tests on the University website on page Formazione per l'accesso ai laboratori
You can find the instructions on how to get your password in the document "Instructions on access to Moodle for users without SingleSignOn":
“1) OTTENIMENTO USERNAME E PASSWORD
Users will have to provide the Person in charge of the laboratory with the following data:
a. Italian tax code (codice fiscale)
b. name and surname
c. valid e-mail address
The Person in charge, in turn, will send these data to the Human Resources Training and Development Service (formazione@unipd.it), that will send the user his/her access username and password (see point 2) […]”.

Q: I have already taken the safety tests for access to the laboratories, but I have lost my certificates. Where can I find them?
A: Contact the Human Resources Training and Development Service (formazione@unipd.it), that will send you your certificates.

Badge

Q: I haven’t got the University badge yet or I have lost it. What shall I do?
A:
- if you have got an identification number, that is you are a Professor, technical and administrative staff, Ph.D. student, temporary research fellow, Post-graduate student, student, contact the University Service in charge of category (see Badge page)
- if you have NO identification number (that is you are a grant beneficiary, collaborator, guest, etc.), contact the Technical Office of your working place (Via Gradenigo, Via Marzolo or Via Venezia), only after your access has been authorized via the on-line procedure.

Q: I have been authorized access to the Department, but my badge won’t let me into the areas related to my activity.
A:
- if you have got a @unipd.it / @studenti.unipd.it account, send a request to the Helpdesk, section "SERVIZI TECNICI E SICUREZZA::3 Sistema controllo accessi (badge)"
- if you have NO @unipd.it / @studenti.unipd.it account, contact the Technical Office of your working place (Via Gradenigo, Via Marzolo or Via Venezia).

IT Services

Q: I have been authorized access to the Department. How can I connect to the Department wi-fi network?
A:
- if you have got a @unipd.it / @studenti.unipd.it account, you can connect to the Eduroam wi-fi network 
- if you have an account of a company / institution member of Eduroam, you can connect to the Eduroam wi-fi network 
- if you have NO @unipd.it / @studenti.unipd.it account, ask the computer technician of your working place for your user credentials.

Q: I have been authorized access to the Department. How can I use the Department network printers?
A:
- if you have got a @unipd.it / @studenti.unipd.it account, you are already allowed to use them. Just link your badge to the printers: instructions 
- if you have NO @unipd.it / @studenti.unipd.it account, ask the computer technician of your working place for your user credentials and then follow the instructions

Q: I have been authorized access to the Department. How can I connect to the Department computers (i.e. laboratory computers)?
A:
- if you have got a @unipd.it / @studenti.unipd.it account, you are already allowed to access using your Single Sign On user credentials (username + @unipd.it or @studenti.unipd.it)
- if you have NO @unipd.it / @studenti.unipd.it account, ask the computer technician of your working place for your user credentials.

The users allowed to access DII if in possession of an activated badge are divided into the following categories:

Typology 1

  • faculty, that is tenured professors and researchers employed at DII
  • technical and administrative staff with working place at DII

Typology 2

  • temporary research fellows with supervisor employed at DII
  • students of the Ph.D. School in Industrial Engineering with supervisor employed at DII
  • students of other Ph.D. Schools with supervisor employed at DII
  • DII grant beneficiaries
  • term-contract workers with formal collaboration with DII

Typology 3

  • researchers of other bodies with which DII has a co-operation agreement
  • occasional contract workers
  • recent graduates (access up to four months for completion of ongoing researches)
  • Bachelor/Master/Ph.D. candidates with thesis supervisor employed at DII
  • students of Master’s Degree Programmes managed by the Department
  • tenured University personnel with working place different from DII
  • authorized students with a reference Professor employed at DII and involved in teaching projects approved by the Department
  • foreign students and Bachelor/Master/Ph.D. candidates with a reference Professor employed at DII

Typology 4

  • holders of teaching assignments in one of the Degree Programmes managed by the Department
  • retired professors acting as tutors or supervisors of Bachelor/Master/Ph.D. theses not yet defended upon their retirement, for a period not longer than one year
  • retired professors continuing research activity proven by publications together with other faculty of the Department
  • research and/or teaching personnel (Professors, Ph.D. students, grant beneficiaries, temporary research fellows, research collaborators) belonging to national or international Universities or research bodies, with which the Department has specific conventions or co-operation relationships in the field of research or teaching
  • Visiting Scientists formally invited by the Head of the Department
  • holders of tasks in the framework of initiatives related to and officially recognized by the Department (Presidency of sector associations based at the Department, public relations, participation in national and international boards, …)
  • Visiting Scholars (Ph.D. students / Postdoctoral researchers funded by their own sending Universities and spending a limited period of time at DII for research reasons)
  • research and/or teaching personnel (Professors, Ph.D. students, grant beneficiaries, temporary research fellows, research collaborators, etc.) belonging to other Departments of the University
